— A new film about discrimination experienced by people in poverty
Although prohibited by international law, people living in poverty suffer from discrimination and institutional violence, generation after generation. Every day, finding a place to live, work or seek medical care is a real obstacle course. Judgment, exclusion and stigmatization cause suffering and diminish the chances of self-fulfilment, from childhood and throughout life. It is a hidden face of poverty. Today, in order to break the silence, people living in poverty who are involved in the ATD Fourth World movement are speaking out. In an exchange with Olivier De Schutter, the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, they ask talk about discrimination: how can it be fought? By using the law? By getting together to strengthen ourselves?
