The UN Special Rapporteur participated in the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN)’s annual policy conference on July 14. His intervention (starting after 1h12) dealt with some of the challenges countries face in light of the COVID-19 economic crisis, such as the problem of non-take-up of rights and the need for people in poverty to participate in the design and assessment of programs. He also spoke about the issue of the EU’s informal or non-standard sector and the need to build inclusive labor markets, establish living minimum wages, adopt a minimum income across the EU, and ensure that the financing of social protection is equitable.
